Boy You Shoulda Known By Now..

West really, peoples?

So I wanted to start this here blog off with a bang and was gonna hook up two prime-time The Conscious Daughters remixes produced by Paris that are dope as fuck. If you like some West Coast Ridin' Shit (not to be confused with West Coast Rider Shit), you will LOVE these two remixes. Unfortunately, I've been unable to locate one of the two vinyls so far, but I know it's here somewhere in these 4,000 records, so stay tuned for that one.

Instead, I'm gonna start things out with a small pop at least, with a couple of Eazy E remixes that I had completely forgotton about:

"Still Talkin'" (remix) & "We Want Eazy" (remix)

We Want Eazy was interestingly co-produced by MC Ren(?) If anyone wants to take a guess at what Ren does here, feel free.

Both are remixed versions of songs that originally appeared on Eazy Duz It and both are produced by High-Powered Productions(Dre & Yella's old production team, if ya didn't know). Both are also remixes based around the original versions of the tracks. In the case of Still Talkin', one of the background wino weed carriers even makes fun of this fact. Still, most of the production additions are decent. But the biggest payoff here would have to be the added lyrics. Eazy kicks some new rhymes for Still Talkin' and I believe Ren, Dre & Eazy all come differently on parts of We Want Eazy too.

Like the man said: "I missed Spinks and Tyson, I ain't gone miss this!"

Ren hooked up the Funky Drummer sample, and also played with the sample buttons to give that cute 80's electro stutter to all the spoken samples.

He also bought all the chicken on Fridays for the crew, and provided Dre with his ride to and from the studio (no homo)

Coincidentally, this was the main reason for NWA splitting back in the day. Contrary to popular belief, Icecube did not leave the group because of money issues, but because it used to be him who did most of the studio runs and as Arabian Prince lived 28738782 miles from the studio, and none of the crew had enough cash to chip in for gas, so Cube was always on E, with no financial recompense.

Before NWA blew up big style and the whole crew worked day jobs, the DOC used to work at a Crenshaw gas station, where he passed out his demo and gave free sodas to anyone who he thought could help put him on. One day, Tone Loc happened to be thirsty between breaks from learning the lines Young MC had written for him. He went into DOC's gas station to purchase a refreshingly cold Snapple, and the rest, as they say is history.

By the way, Ren's sister, Renatta is currently starring in several local theatre productions of Arthur Miller's 'Death Of A Salesman', while Yella's godson, Yellowman can currently be heard 'on the reggae scene.' Other famous NWA-related stars include Dre's half-brother Drayz from Das Efx, and his half cousin Dred Scott, famous for the underground hit, check that vibe. Ice Cube's famous relations include William 'The Refridgerator' Perry, Cold 187um from Above The Law, and Ice Cream Tee from 'back in da dayz.'
